Freedom and Security – coordinating a value conflict (held in German)

The first conference was held in October, 2020, and covered the tension between freedom and security. A podcast (see next page) introduced the two speakers and their issues, Prof. Dr. Ottfried Höffe (Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen): Die Idee der Freiheit – und ihr Wert (“The idea of freedom and its value”) and Prof. Dr. Eckard Conze (Philipps-Universität Marburg): Sicherheit: Wert, Fiktion und Versprechen (“Security, value, fiction and promise”). During the conference, both presented extended versions of their Podcast statements. A panel discussion including besides Prof. Höffe and Prof. Conze also Prof.  Dr. Gisela Riescher from Freiburg University, and moderated by Jeanne…, extended the issue to current debates of freedom versus security in times of the pandemy.
